They are the elite of the elite. Heroes who risk their lives to rescue others. They are the men and women of Rescue Specials Ops. Experienced paramedics in peak physical condition, they're skilled in abseiling, rock climbing, surf and sea rescue, 4wd driving and fire brigade procedures. They are the first to be called in for any natural or man-made disaster, salvage or rescue operations.

In this season the Special Ops team are threatened with the introduction of Lifeblood a privately owned rescue organisation trying to take over their business - leaving the entire team on edge in fear of losing their jobs and their future in rescue work.
