In his head 15-year-old Oliver Tate is a cool literary genius though the reality is something quite different. Fearing that his mother is having an affair with her old flame Graham Oliver uses his parents' bedroom dimmer switch to monitor their sex life; meanwhile Oliver attempts to woo his bossy pyromaniac classmate Jordana. Oliver's two goals this summer are to save his parents' marriage and to lose his virginity.
