Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese and the world's greatest rock 'n roll band, The Rolling Stones, unite to bring audiences the musical film event, Shine A Light, a look at The Rolling Stones, the band that defined the very idea of what a rock & roll band is, live through the eyes of Scorsese. The group, which formed in London in 1962, distilled so much of the music that had come before it and has exerted a decisive influence on so much that has come after. No stranger to rock concert films (The Last Waltz), Scorsese filmed the Stones over a two-day period at the intimate Beacon Theater in New York City in fall 2006. He assembled an incredible team of cinematographers to capture the raw energy of the legendary band.
